Hello, this is Marko Vovk from <a href="http://

Many home inspectors make the mistake of misdiagnosing moisture content in exterior walls. The surface non-pin moisture meter works on electromagnetic radio waves. If moisture is present, the gauge provides a positive reading. However, if there is interference such as a metal stud, cinder block foundation or in this example, foil-faced drywall or foil-faced sheathing also know as a radiant barrier, the meter will short circuit and show a high moisture reading. Your waterproofing or siding contractor may be making repairs that are not necessary. Radiant barriers have been used on and off for the last fifty years. Sometimes you need to use surface moisture meters, pin moisture meters and common sense. Thank you this is Marko Vovk from <a href="http://
