Many people in America purchased many types of patented household safety items such as plastic plug in electrical outlet protectors so the little munchkins do no get zapped or electrocuted. Many Americans never check many other important electrical conditions such as corrosion or rusting or the electric meter, service, or main electrical panel with can cause power outage, spikes, shorts, arks, and even power fluctuations. Many people never ever checks the electrical panel for double tapped circuits, damaged breakers, wrong type of fuse, poor grounding or over fusing. People need to inspect the breakers and fuses to make sure they are not the wrong size or type. People need to check the fuse or breaker panels and make no mice are chewing the wires. All these conditions can cause shock, electrocution, arcing, power failure, shorts, appliance failure, house fires, and personal injury. In the USA, electrical house fires kill people every day. People should check you electrical panel for defective panels, recalled panels, modified panels or outdated panels. Some panels that your electrician should look for are the Federal Pacific Stab Lok, and Zensco panel just to mention a few. Then inside our homes, we improperly wire outlets, switches and use extension cords that can shock us, case fires, cause burns, kill our pet, and damage our electrical system or appliances. On the exterior, we wire up thousands of feet of exposed extension wire for holiday decorations, poorly install yard lights, improperly hook up water pond pumps, and poorly connect ice melting cords on our roofs.
Many homes have other unsafe conditions such as loose chimney bricks that need tuck pointing. Loose bricks can fall off the roof. We build unsafe conditions with garden structures, playgrounds, decks, and porches. Improper construction can cause failures, collapse, and bodily injury. When these things happen, you generally cannot claim these pre-existing or latent defect to your issuance company blaming it on wind, rain, or a snow storm. Many builders build on bad soil, uncompacted soil, unstable soil, or on cliffs which can result in land failure, house cracks, erosion, and even major accidents… Children like to play on hills and cliffs. We lock up our cabinets with patented special plastic protector door or cabinet locks so bleach or dishwashing detergent does not poison our toddlers. Then we leave our home office doors open so kids can play chemistry with our products we sell on EBay. Furthermore, we leave pantry doors open so heavy glass pickle jars can fall and crack infant skulls not to mention some of us coupon clippers who stack hoarded food so our kids can play king of the mountain.
Nobody ever installs those special anti-tipping device that keep stoves from tipping over when you toddler steps on the oven door to get to the microwave or cookie jar that is located above the stone. Then many of us, who are on pain, depression, sleeping or other medication which our government may now consider “people with menial illness” nicely stacks these prescription medications on shelves, and countertops which resemble the candy store during Halloween. We put up safety gates thought the home and never check out our stairs rail spacing which should be 3 ½ inches so our toddlers head do not get stuck. We take the shape objects off our countertops and then we put up fake fruit decorations which can poison kids or make their teeth fall out. We use air cleaners and HEPA filters to clean the air we breathe, and then we go to the store and buy air fresheners that pollute our homes air with chemicals. We store toys in our asbestos filled vermicide attics. Some of us put up fire escape ladders so the kid on third floor can get out and not worry about the ground children playing who may like to climb. We buy small cute pets for our children to play with and then when the pets grow up and east our children. Some of us have compulsive disorders and buy many toys, so now our kid’s trip and break their legs or choke to death. We buy dust collecting teddy bears that contribute to childhood asthma. We buy dolls for our kids and they let them watch scary killer doll movies. We put stove protectors over our stove burners, they we put BBQ grills or fire pits next to our homes. “Should trees be cut down” ?Tree problems and tree root blockage can be very expensive. George Washington our first president and great American leader had the right idea when he cut and chopped down his fathers cherry tree which was located in his front yard. A single tree or many trees that may be too close to a home or that may be located in undesirable locations near or around home’s can cause serious problems, maintenace, or failures. These conditions can occur to but not limited to underground sewer pipes, below slab drain pipes, buried foundation drain tile, foundation walls, footing, interior walls, roofs, or other underground installations. Trees that are growing or have been planted in font yards or in the tree lawn can cause blockage restrictions to the sewer, septic, storm, sanitary, drain tile or other underground piping systems. This can restrict flow and can lead to sewer back ups, overflows basement leaks, floods, mildew, mold, and even black mold. Trees located next to homes, or next to garages can cause structural damage to foundations, footers, concrete slabs, and partition walls. Furthermore, the storm water drain tile that is suppose to keep your basement dry can become blocked and permit the exterior soil to become wet, saturated, and heavy. The heavy soil creates hydrostatic loading which may push or exert huge powerful loads to the foundation walls. These loads can cause interior cracks, wall bows, wall deflections, wall movement, wall rotations and even complete foundation failure to the basement structural foundation walls. Trees that hang over the house can damage the roofing shingles, gutters, downspouts, and even permit squirrels, raccoons, or other wildlife to gain access to the roof soffits, overhangs, and or attics. One does not want wildlife living in an attic causing damage to the insulation, chewing wood timbers and/or urinating on insulation or drywall that can cause house odor. Additionally, tree shading can permit roof streaking, roof moss, roof mold or roof mildew. Finally, trees can rot, deteriorate or become damged from old age, water entry into knots, wood boring insects, termites, powder post beetles, and or carpenter ants. Landlords are rich because they saved money for a property house down payment, have a job, go to work in the morning, pack a lunch, pay property tax, and make bank mortgage payments. In America, the tenant has more rights then the landlord. The judicial system also cites landlords for everything. Condominium Real-Estate Home Inspector Rusted Steel Failure. A nice family with two little children lived in a two story condominium located above a concrete and structural steel parking garage that was becoming structurally unsound and had the potential to collapse. A home inspector was employed by a nice lady to inspect the condominium that was located next door to this very nice family. The home inspector noticed that the exterior trench drains that were located at all the exterior common areas were rather small. The inspector insisted on inspecting the lower level common parking garage. While in the parking garage, the inspector noticed that upper level common area trench drains leaked and has caused severe rusting, corrosion and damaged to the structural steel the holds up all four of the condominiums. The home inspector also wondered what was happening to other parking garages in this same complex. The inspector informed the nice lady that building collapse or failure was possible if these conditions were not repaired. The nice lady called the condominium association board members which consisted mostly of retired elders. These elders stated, that nothing was wrong with their parking garage and that all the garage leaks were being properly controlled with plastic. The nice lady decided that the structural steel is going to kill this deal so her bough a different condominium at different complex the home inspector made and additional $325 dollars. The moral of the story is, home inspectors who find more house problems make more money.
