Cleveland Home Inspector Marko Vovk and Sandusky contractor Jim Schwerer show you an easy quick trick how to clean your dryer vent. You can use your leaf blower. This ClevelandMarko video shows you how to clean your dryer vent using your lawn leaf blower. A wet and dry reversible shop vacuum also works. If you do the work yourself, you may save $200.

Some dryer information.

If your dryer loads are taking more the 30-40 minutes, you are wasting money and you better check your dryer vent. The better a dryer vent blows, the less lint builds up in it. Short vents blow better than long ones. Full size dryers blow better than smaller stack dryers do. Older dryers also do not blow very well. If the dryer vent has a lot of turns and elbows, it will take longer to dry cloths at a higher energy cost. Sometimes the dryer vent is full of lint or clogged. A plugged vent will cause a dryer to run hotter and increase the chance of a fire. A dirty vent, however, is only one link in a chain of events that must occur for a fire to start. Other events may include failure of thermostat and high limit switches in the dryer, lint inside the dryer, a missing or damaged lint screen, and a crushed hose behind the dryer.

Rule of thumb: Dryer length should be less than 25 feet minus 5 feet for every 90 bend and minus 2.5 feet for every 45 bend.

A few tips: Clean the lint screen filter before or after drying each load of clothes. Clean the dryer vent and exhaust duct periodically. Clean behind the dryer, where lint can build up. Replace plastic or foil, accordion-type ducting material with rigid or corrugated semi-rigid metal duct when needed.
Take special care when drying clothes that have been soiled with flammable volatile chemicals.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that in 1998, clothes dryers were associated with 15,600 fires, which resulted in 20 deaths and 370 injuries.

Crawl space designs that have exterior ventilation also know as “vented crawl spaces: sometimes create house problems, issues and permit musty odors. Some problems that vented crawl spaces create but not limited to may be, mold, mildew, rot, deterioration, musty house odors, insect infestation, and wood boring insect activity such as termites, carpenters ants and powered post beetles. Additionally, vented crawl spaces could lead to musty cloths odors, mold growth in upper home, poor indoor air quality, heavy dust mite activity, cold floors, condensation and much more. Home inspector Marko Vovk recommends that crawl spaces that are located in cold weather zones like Ohio and most of USA America, should be conditioned crawl spaces. Conditioned crawl space designs are more desirable and would include by not limited to sealing exterior vents, heating, cooling, dehumidifying, installing a 100% sealed floor vapor barrier, installing interior perimeter insulation, and properly managing exterior water sources. Simple Easy Trick Tenant Renter Revenge
The is a compilation of one very stupid nasty tenant and one stupid rich landlord. In America, many renters or tenants damage and destroy homes. The tenant does not own the home and therefore does not respect the property. This video shows house conditions from a non paying tenant that was evicted. This renter left all the garbage, debris, nasty furniture, cloths, toys, pet foot, crackers, dander, dust mites, pet hair balls, garbage bags, and other junk throughout the home. This tenant did not appear to have owned a vacuum cleaner or a broom. The tenant soiled and destroyed the carpet. The kids painted the walls with graffiti. It appears that some people will buy cigarette, beer, drugs, dope, and frozen dinners before they pay the landlord the monthly rent that is due. The courts also will punish landlords because they think they are rich. I guess you are rich if you own a home. I own a home and drive a 1996 Transport. My tenant drives a brand new Lexis and she is poor. Her garbage is full or old lottery tickets, McDonald empty french fry containers; Dunkin Dugouts empty coffee cups, cat litter, empty Purina pet boxes, and other. Landlords are rich because they saved money for a property house down payment, have a job, go to work in the morning, pack a lunch, pay property tax, and make bank mortgage payments. In America, the tenant has more rights then the landlord. The judicial system also cites landlords for everything. I just paid the City of Cleveland court systems $150 for trash that my tenants did not take out to curb on garbage day. Please rate and subscribe. Condominium Real-Estate Home Inspector Rusted Steel Failure. A nice family with two little children lived in a two story condominium located above a concrete and structural steel parking garage that was becoming structurally unsound and had the potential to collapse. A home inspector was employed by a nice lady to inspect the condominium that was located next door to this very nice family. The home inspector noticed that the exterior trench drains that were located at all the exterior common areas were rather small. The inspector insisted on inspecting the lower level common parking garage. While in the parking garage, the inspector noticed that upper level common area trench drains leaked and has caused severe rusting, corrosion and damaged to the structural steel the holds up all four of the condominiums. The home inspector also wondered what was happening to other parking garages in this same complex. The inspector informed the nice lady that building collapse or failure was possible if these conditions were not repaired. The nice lady called the condominium association board members which consisted mostly of retired elders. These elders stated, that nothing was wrong with their parking garage and that all the garage leaks were being properly controlled with plastic. The nice lady decided that the structural steel is going to kill this deal so her bough a different condominium at different complex the home inspector made and additional $325 dollars. The moral of the story is, home inspectors who find more house problems make more money. from “The Jim and Marko Show” went to Las Vegas Nevada to teach a class on forensic residential building investigations. Several minutes before their seminar ended, their sound system failed. The home inspectors needed to purchase a new sound system for their next show scheduled for the following week. They decided to gamble their last $100 dollars on five different Las Vegas slot machines at five different casinos. They had a great time placing bets, travelling from casino to casino, and site seeing. During their travels they looked at wonderful building architecture, neon light signs, street entertainers, and watched people pass out all types of literature that ranged from big show discount coupons, grand canyon tours, and finally, phone number sex hooker cards. These graphic evening girl sex cards were handed out at almost every Las Vega strip street corner.

After playing five gambling slot machines, the home inspector’s winnings were taken to a 6th casino and placed on the roulette wheel. Finally, the roulette wheel winnings were taken to a 7th casino and put on the craps table. As you can see, both inspectors ended up broke in their hotel room playing fish while waiting for their plane’s departure time. Your electrical panel can burn down your house. Hidden problems in electrical panels can burn down homes. Most basements have negative pressure caused by cold air returns are not sealed with furnace tape. These return ducts with small holes suck your basement, especially, if the door leading to the basement is closed. These depressurized basements suck, air from wall cracks, appliance vents, fireplaces, sump pumps, and electrical panels which is the focal point of this Marko Vovk video. Basement foundation walls are colder because they are underground and the unconditioned sucked in warm – moist air condensates within the cold electrical panel causing rust. Rusted panels can cause fires. Many electricians misdiagnose rusted or corrode panels as water leaking in or dripping in. Repairing these problems is simple. Seal the basement cold air returns, open several basement supply heat registers to help slightly pressurize basement, change the door to the basement to a louvered door and remove the rust form electrical panel.
